Marble is expensive, beautiful and elegant stone which is commonly used in baths, floors, countertops and showers. There are lots of items which are made up of marble and available in various designs and colors. Marble has usually color streaks which adds extra beauty and look and make marble unique from other stones. If you want to preserve the beauty and shine of this stone then it is very important to know well about marble and how to clean it.

Here is some guideline for the cleanliness of marble

  1. Clean Marble on Regular Basis: Marble is a sensitive stone and can take stains so easily. So you need extra care when tackling with marble. You don’t need to place cups, pots, glasses without any coasters on marble surface because cups and glasses leave stains in shape of rings on marble surface. You have to wipe down any kind of liquid spills ASAP. You have to clean your marble base on regular basis with damp and soft cloth to make keep marble surface smooth. It is suggested to clean marble restoration surface thoroughly with dish wash liquid and warm water twice a year, wash it with this solution and rinse it with warm water and dry it with towel. You can polish or apply wax on marble surface to make it safe from any sort of damage or rub. You can use marble sealer to give a solid protection. Avoid using wax on white marble that it turns white marble into yellow.
  2. Rough and Dull Marble: If you see that marble is getting rough and dull and lost its shine and beauty, you have to buy marble cleaner and polish the marble. Lots of marble companies give you care kit but commercial marble cleaner is much more effective and easy to use as compare to these kits. You need to buy correct and best marble cleaner.Tin acid or putty powder is also a useful thing for marble polishing. You just need to apply it with damp cloth on its surface and use electric polisher and start polishing. If you’re marble is damage in bad way so you have to consult with professionals.
  3. Stained Marble: Stains are having different types and different types of acids and chemicals are available in market to suit client’s needs. Natural stains such as soft drinks, coffee and tea can be removed with chemical mix, so you need to apply the chemical mix and leave it to dry and after that clean it with damp cloth. For greasy stains caused by butter, lotion or cream you can use cornstarch, just sprinkle it on stain and then rinse with foamy detergent with brush.
